XILINX Specific Issues

XILINX FPGA devices include many features that can be used to improve the performance of the design. Most of the information about such features can be found in [7]. Information on how to utilize these features can be found in SOLD manual, the HDL Synthesis For FPGAs manual available in the Crypto lab and the WWW, and XILINX and Synopsys WWW help pages. The two most common features that are used to improve performance are the STARTUP block and global nets inside the XILINX FPGA. These are briefly described below.
